What is a QBook?

QBook™ is an interactive read-along digital colour picture book format designed by Kiwa Media for young children. QBook is an eBook, iPhone and iPad app that combines a narrators voice with original picture illustrations and touchable text that is synchronised to highlight and sound when words are touched. There are great puzzles and games to enjoy as well.

QBook is a great activity for kids of all ages and helps develop reading and comprehension skills. Qbook can also be used as part of a lesson plan or reading strategy and helps children learn spelling and pronunciation.

The QBook Story

Reading books should always be fun. QBook™ was designed specifically to be an entertaining and engaging way for young children to read digital books. It is a true innovation in digital publishing, that combines the ebook format with the interactiveness of an iPhone.

QBook offers a kinaesthetic approach to reading digital books for children. With QBook we've created a tactile world where young readers can experience great stories and interact with the content. Children can customize each title by reading and recording the story in their own voice and colour and save the illustrations.  It’s one way to put children at the centre of each story.

We’ve also included fun games and puzzles using content from the book to keep children engaged. Children should be encouraged to explore the rich content and give them an exciting experience that supports their language and literacy development. Above all, QBooks makes learning fun!

QBook Technology

QBook™is created by QUT our content creation system that provides a framework to bring content into the touch enabled digital marketplace on multiple platforms. QBooks are currently available on the iPad, iPhone & iPod touch via the iTunes store with the support for other touch enabled operating systems like Windows Mobile and Android planned soon.

QBook utilizes many of the patented IP innovations made at Kiwa over the last decade in multi-language audio and text systems, bringing true multi-language touch enabled books to the mobile screen.

Because QBooks are self contained applications they allow updating and feature DRM (Digital Rights Management) to protect publishers content and prevent unauthorised copying.
